Let me start with some interesting facts about me…. I quit my MBA after completing 2 years as I felt the program was extremely bookish and theoretical. I am a complete Bollywood fan and you will recognise that if you read any of my blogs. I find myself being able to laugh at many things that are supposedly serious and that gets reflected in my blogs too. As a person I am a pseudo rebel and fiercely independent except when I have to change a bulb. Am an atheist by heart, but I find God in Nature and Beauty. And so I travel a lot and enjoy every bit of it.
Now for some boring facts… I started my career with a Business Process Outsourcing company and handled roles in Operations, Quality & Process Migrations. Simultaneously I did my Diploma in Human Resource Management from NMIMS. I used to enjoy practicing (read experimenting) some of my HR fundas on my team. I tried getting into a full time Corporate HR role which is never easy for someone who doesn’t have an MBA and experience in HR. So took up a role in a growing HR Consulting firm and learnt everything there is about Hiring, Business Development and P&L Management. I left them as Head of one of their businesses. Took a sabbatical and then joined a Bank where I currently head HR & Training. I am also a Certified Coach with International Coach Federation & ACTP.
People who knew me said I have clarity of thought and communication, so I decided to start this blog on career management. But turns out that I am not as wise as I thought I was. So I started writing about some silly happenings from my personal life and realised that I enjoyed that a lot more. Thus ‘worklife’ became ‘work & life’ in my blog.
I love it when individuals get together and share views.
Great site, keep it up!
Howdy! I could have sworn I’ve visited this web site before but after browsing through
many of the articles I realized it’s new to me.
Anyways, I’m definitely happy I found it and I’ll be bookmarking
it and checking back regularly!

for axis bank as an assistant manager in
Operation, its my post MBA job from a
normal B school, as its banking I want to
move to a better hierarchy of the
organisation/ banking sector with a better
integrated courses or exams, my education
background is Bachelor in commerce and
then after, MBA in marketing..somewhere I feel like the growth is slow as if I dont do any integrated course as the age & time factor move on.. kindly advice me the couse or any other certifications to go with.
I feel you are the right one to
guide..please suggest
Hi Kiran, I think that the course you take up should be in line with your skills and job. You mentioned you have done your MBA in marketing, so why are you in Operations? Why not move into a customer facing job. Front-end roles are always more rewarding from a career growth perspective. Write to me on hamsaz@yahoo.com and we can have a more personalized discussion on furthering your career through certifications or otherwise.
